Emergent's History

Emergent was founded in 2000 with a mission of developing tools and technologies for interactive entertainment. In August of 2005, Emergent merged with NDL, the company that created the Gamebryo game development engine and tools.

Gamebryo enjoys widespread adoption among game developers and is the engine game designers trust. Gamebryo has been integral to the creation of instant classics such as Sid Meier's Pirates!, Civilization IV, the Dark Age of Camelot series, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Freedom Force. Gamebryo is designed for use with every major interactive game platform, from its roots in PC games to next-generation platforms such as PLAYSTATION®3 and Xbox 360, and most recently, the increasingly popular Nintendo Wii.
